On October 7th 2018 Bishop Toal encouraged all Catholics in the Motherwell Diocese to pray the Rosary with him at Carfin Grotto. This was in response to the call of Pope Francis for everyone in the Church to pray the Rosary during the month of October in response to the Abuse crisis enveloping the Church.
